Decru® Lifetime Key Management Software™ — Description

Decru Lifetime Key Management™ (LKM) software provides a way to manage encryption keys for multiple DataFort appliances, ensuring encryption key availability for the life of secured data. When used in combination with the separate Decru Decryption Software™ (DDS), LKM can enable authorized administrators to decrypt data outside of DataFort.

Features
	LKM allows a security administrator to upload, view, manage and save DataFort configuration and key information. Configuring DataFort appliances to send configuration information to LKM ensures that encryption keys will be available over the long term. Once configured to send backups to LKM, a DataFort appliance or cluster will automatically send configuration and key data to LKM.

System Requirements

LKM Server

NOTE: All LKM servers should be dedicated machines used only for LKM and no other services.

Choose a computer that meets the following requirements to serve as the LKM server:
- Supported Operating System
  - Windows XP SP2
  - Windows 2000 SP4
  - Windows Server 2003 SP1
  - Windows Server 2000 SP4
- Supported browser
  - Internet Explorer, 6.0 or later
- Supported databases
  - MySQL 4.0.22 Pro NT
  - MS SQL 2000 SP4
- Hardware requirements
  - 2.8 Ghz Pentium
  - 1GB RAM
  - 2GB free hard drive space
  - An available USB port for the smart card reader from Decru
  - A CD drive for installing software

Network Requirements

One fixed IP address per LKM server appliance
256kb connection for any remote LKM Server

NOTE: If you are using the Microsoft® Internet Explorer 4.0 or 5.0 browser and are having problems opening any of the Acrobat files, you might need to upgrade your browser by downloading the latest Service Pack. Alternatively, you can right-click the link to an Acrobat file and select "Save Target as..." to download the file, or use the Netscape Navigator® browser to access the file.

Upgrade Cautions

To upgrade from LKM Server Software 2.5 to the LKM Appliance 3.0, see instructions in the LKM Appliance Administration Guide.

NOTE: Instead of attempting such an upgrade yourself, it is HIGHLY recommended that you work with your NetApp or Decru PSE as part of a professional services engagement. Upgrades should NOT be attempted without proper training and a complete upgrade kit, including a new Administration Guide and administration kit, smart cards and step-by-step upgrade instructions.

Software Download Instructions
	After you confirm that the machine which will function as the Management Station meets the necessary requirements, proceed with the download by clicking CONTINUE.
